It is a wide open space with few people. The wind whipping and re-sculpting the sand dunes. The tide was out so there was water draining off the beach from near to the lighthouse, which helps add depth to the image. The lighthouse has apparently been bought by a private owner. I wonder if they are going to straighten it up?
There is an outer sandbar which is visible when the tide is out. It adds some small dynamics to the imagry.
All this sand was laid down during the Glacial Periods and is gradually being washed away during this warmer period. Of course if we are truly in a global warming period all these beaches will become washed away faster. Although I don't think I'll be around for it. But if I am then London might get a good washing out along with Mersey and Liverpool.

Carparking is very cheap at 20p then either an energetic walk over the sand dunes or a longer walk for pushchairs etc on a boardwalk to reach the vast sandy beach.
The lighthouse is now in full view.
The sea was a long way out when we visited and although a lovely sunny day was very windy. People were sheltering in the dunes where it was a lovely suntrap.
